Aluminum Nitrate
Aluminum Nitrate
Molecular Formula: Al(NO3)3•9H2O,Molecular Weight: 374.134
CAS No.7784-27-2
Physicochemical Properties: Aluminum Nitrate is white monoclinic system crystal,Specific Density: 1.72,Melting Point: 73°C,dehydrate at 75°C,decompose into basic salt at 135°C and completely decompose into aluminum oxide and nitrogen gas above 500°C. It is easily dissolved in water, methanol, ethanol and glycerol but not in pyridine. It exhibits hygroscopic property.
Applications and Usages: Aluminum Nitrate mainly applied to manufacture catalyst used in organic synthesis, dye mordant in textile industry, tanning agent for leathers, inhibitor for anticorrosion, anti-sweat agent, and salting out agent used in recycling nuclear fuel though solvent extraction process.
